"The text reads “Score! Superman does it again!,” because as we all know, mackin’ on Amazon warriors is one of America’s national past times and we are required to assign the practice a points system just like we do in baseball. Also, Wonder Woman’s a lasso-less “it” now, we guess. Yeah, that’s why her arm’s all weird at the bottom of the shirt; she’s supposed to be lassoing Superman in the picture. But why present a powerful female superhero using one of her trademark symbols as a marker of sexual agency when you can instead present her as a stiff, rigid board to be scored upon?"

atstarbucks' Super Marketing Team came up with these asinine advertisements for Tumblr on National Coffee Day. Naturally, I came up with some responses.

I’ve seen this reblogged numerous times in the past week(s?) and I’m just now noticing that the poor kid on the left gets kicked in the face 3 times by that showboating jerk!

    Episode 6 - ‘The Caretaker’

The Doctor goes undercover this week, coming face-to-face not only with the terrifying Skovox Blitzer, but also with Clara’s love interest Danny Pink. Designer Stuart Manning drew influences from the 50s, 60s and 70s to create his poster for episode 6, ‘The Caretaker’…

“Writer Gareth Roberts’ episodes have a wonderful sense of unfussiness about them, which somehowfeels very seventies to me,” says Stuart. “So that was the starting point - blocky fonts and simple, chunky shapes. I also wanted to pick up on the theme of overlapping relationships after-hours, but in a tongue in cheek way, which inspired the silhouettes. So film noir meets Abigail’s Party seemed to fit the bill nicely.”
